British Man Gives Birth

05.13.2009 - Man, 30, gives 'birth' to his twin

British men do a lot of strange things: Take tea breaks, find British women attractive, make horses their drinking buddies, knight Elton John...the list goes on and on. There truly is no end to their bizarreness, so it comes as no surprise that they also give birth every once in a while. And not just any birth, but one resembling the iconic stomach-bursting scene from Alien.

30-year-old Gavin Hyatt drove himself to the hospital through gritted teeth when a lump just above his navel started tearing through his skin.

Hyatt had been to the doctor before—back when the lump was just a lump and not some strange object ripping through his flesh. His doctor, Joe Santos, thought it was a hernia. But that was before the bleeding Hyatt stormed in yelling about the lump coming out of his navel.

"It was like something from Alien. I didn’t believe Gavin when he said something was coming out of his belly button until I saw him," said Dr. Santos.

After emergency surgery, doctors realized that the "hernia" was actually Gavin Hyatt's embryonic twin.

Gavin is fine now and has even taken a liking to his twin brother: "I have him in a jar at home and I call him little Gav." (Ed note: That's DISGUSTING!)

It is well known that the British traditionally host a party after giving birth where guests feast on the new mother's placenta. Since Hyatt delivered no afterbirth, what did guests munch on at his placenta-eating party? His embryonic twin? (It does slightly resemble a shrimp.)
