The family of four, weighing in at a combined 1160 pounds, collect $31,000 a year in benefits because they claim they're too fat to work. But it's not enough to feed them, they say.
"What we get barely covers the bills and puts food on the table. It’s not our fault we can’t work. We deserve more," said Philip Chawner, who, along with his wife and two daughters, sit around all day and watch television.
"We love TV. It’s on from the moment we get up. Often I’m so tired from watching TV I have to have a nap," he added.
What does this family eat all day? The mother, Audrey, says: "We have cereal for breakfast, bacon butties for lunch and microwave pies with mashed potato or chips for dinner. We all love nibbling on biscuits. I once bought some pears, but they tasted funny." She also added that they love "nibbling on biscuits" all day long.
Asked why they don't exercise and try to lose weight, Emma, one of the sisters, simply replied, "We don’t have time to diet."
Remember, these people are unemployed.
Young Emma also added that they would all love to lose weight, "but we don't know how."
Well, Emma, you're in luck because the ICBR will tell you exactly how to lose weight. The first thing you should do is shut off the TV (save on the electric bill!). Then, gather all your family and go run a few laps around your yard. A little sun will do your pasty skin some wonders as well. Lastly, mail those benefit checks over to us for reparations. You'll see just how fast those pounds will shed away when you can't afford those bacon butties anymore.
Interestingly, Emma auditioned for the X Factor, the British version of American Idol. Simon Cowell was not amused.
