They're claiming it's a first. No one else has ever captured on camera a whale shark, the world's biggest fish, moving its bowels. While filming a segment for the BBC'S Natural World series, the scientists were thrilled to have caught the beast pooping. Marine biologist, and crew member, Mark Meekan said: "It's a very rare sight – one I've only witnessed twice in 10 years of whale shark observation and which, to the best of my knowledge, has never been shown on TV before."
Bravo, England! Talk about being at the right place at the right time, huh! Way to one-up that dirty Frenchman Jacques Cousteau. Forget about finding the cure for all the world's diseases. No, no. Now THIS is the kind of scientific breakthrough the world has been waiting for. Cloning the Wooly Mammoth? BORING! Discovering life on other planets? BLASPHEMY! We're certain that if you turn up the volume on the video, you can hear the whale shark mutter, "This is what I think of your Queen," right before taking its dump.
