As if there weren't enough reasons to pack a lunch when in London, a recent study of British Indian restaurants have found alarming amounts of food coloring in their curry. After finding five times the legal limit in one sample, Indian restaurants were warned. Naturally, the warnings went unheeded and no punishments have been given. An officer of The Food Standards Agency said, “The food industry has taken great strides to remove them but the message does not appear to have been heeded by the takeaway curry trade.”
So it appears no strides have actually been made because, obviously, the British authorities are cowards incapable of rolling up their sleeves and getting a little dirty. As long as the Queen is unaffected, the masses can fend for themselves.
Issuing warnings will not change anything unless punishments are carried out, which they have not. Make an example of one restaurant and you will find that others will follow suit. Take care of your people, England, you don't want to be forced to pay them reparations as well, do you?
