An effort to lower the legal driving blood alcohol level from 80mg to 50mg has failed in England, making it the only country where you can have a pint or two and still drive home lawfully. Though the lower tolerance would reportedly save 65 lives, 230 injuries, and £119 million per year, the British ministers decided not to move forward with the proposal. Road safety minister Jim Fitzpatrick says he is "not convinced (it) is the right answer."
England, you need only to look at your fellow European countries to see that this is the right answer. It's preposterous to claim that you're uncertain about the effectiveness of this move when every other country in your continent has done it. Study their data. It works. Your stubbornness and misguided high-brow attitude needs to be curbed before you destroy yourselves. Lower the alcohol limit and use the £119 million to start paying your reparations. The world will be a better place.
