NFL Comes to London, Liverpool Boy Discovers He Has Balls After All
Philadelphia, PA – November 5, 2007
American Football arrived in England last week for the first official NFL game played outside of the United States in the league’s history. The Sunday face-off between the Giants and Dolphins marked not only the beginning of an NFL push to win fans overseas, but also the first time that Britons were able to witness real men playing a real man’s game. Reactions by attending Englishmen ranged from complete astonishment to utter jubilation.
One attendee who had made the journey from Brent couldn’t believe players were using their hands stating, “I can’t believe that bloke just used his hands,” while a Waltham Forest woman was overheard remarking on the absence of very short shorts and very high socks. But perhaps the most touching moment of the evening came during the second quarter when a boy who had traveled all the way from Liverpool discovered that his hitherto missing testicles had miraculously descended after witnessing a 10 yard touchdown run by Giant’s quarterback Eli Manning. The boy/man was further elated when beard stubble began to appear on his face as the third quarter drew to a close. “Who knows,” the boy/man said, “I might even get laid tonight. Those Dolphins’ cheerleaders are pretty hot.”
