Letter To The ICBR: Re: Homework

03.07.2007

Whilst I thoroughly enjoyed reading your website I felt it necessary to point out that the website only focuses on what you believe the British are to blame for, yet fail to mention any positive contributions the british have made to the world today. I could spend hours writing an essay on the subject but if you have done your homework then I am sure you know what I am talking about.

What I would like to suggest is perhaps you would have more success on a campaign if you chose one say more closely to your own home, such as campaigning for the poor US citizens in New Orleans who are still having to live in the aftermath of the floods, with no real efforts to rectify the situation.

Or perhaps you should focus on the world climate debate and the issue of CO2 emissions, use of fossil fuels. The US is one of the biggest contributors to the problems the world faces, and whilst I am sure you blame the british for this, at least the british are facing up to the problems and leading the world in trying to encourage change, rather than the US who hide their heads in the sand and continuously look away from the problems in hand. Your elected officials are only worried about ensuring future votes rather than making tough decisions that would be better for its citizens (and the world) in the long run.

Just to end, rather than looking to the past where you can make no difference you should concentrate all efforts on the future and the lives, and future lives, of all the world's population including all species and the natural world. Stop thinging about yesterday but worry about tomorrow!!

Thanks for listening, and the laughable read of the website.

N Davies
A british citizen
