ICBR’s YouTube Video Sparks Outcry From the European British Coalition

02.20.2007

Philadelphia, PA – February 20, 2007 – The work of the International Coalition for British Reparations has prompted a spokesperson from Canada’s European British Coalition to speak out against the ICBR’s efforts to collect reparations from the British for 500 years of misrule and crimes against humanity. Sadly, the not-so-professional quality of the recording made it pretty darn hard to hear what he had to say. Miraculously, our ears were able to pick up a few key statements that nicely sum up the Euro British Coalition’s position on the ICBR.

Publicly decreeing the ICBR’s endeavors “total nonsense,” Euro British Coalition Leader Michael Chessman issued a video response to the ICBR, which appears here on YouTube:

Euro British Coalition Speaks Out Against ICBR

Mr. Chessman states, “The world has benefited from (sic) the wisdom of Britain,” and goes on to ask the question: “Are you guys out of your minds?” Mr. Chessman concludes his video with his suggestion to members of the Coalition: “get a job and do something serious with your life.”

“We believe we are doing something serious – seriously important - with our life by speaking out on behalf of the International Coalition for British Reparations,” says an ICBR spokesman. “And we think every man and woman who has volunteered their time to our organization, signed the petition, visited our website, watched the commercials, listened to the radio spots, read a newspaper and saw our ads, pondered our press conference, perused the articles written about us, passed around our links and joined our MySpace page as friends seriously agree that we’re serious about cleaning up the serious mess that Britain has made. Seriously.”

Mr. Chessman, whose website details his love of British and French automobiles, conservative English empire fashions that never go out of style and his deep admiration for actress Emma Thompson, goes on to issue a follow-up message to the ICBR in this YouTube clip.

Unfortunately for him we couldn’t understand a damn word he said. And for that, we’re seriously bummed. Next time someone disses us, make sure that it’s audible!
