Mannequins resembling children have popped up around school zones causing a mass freak out amongst British motorists. The mannequins are the latest attempt by the Leicester City Council to make drivers slow down around school zones. They're placed on curbs in an attempt to fool the driver into thinking a child is about to cross the road. The tactic isn't working however, as drivers end up staring the Children-of-the-Corn-like dolls instead of the road. They're more of a distraction than a warning.
"They've got scary eyes," said resident, Henry Johnson, "A friend of mine was out walking at night and was really freaked out by them. It's just weird."
British motorists brought this on themselves. If they would just keep their eyes on the road instead of their bottle of lager, then the state wouldn't have to stick these creepy fake children on the road. Also, you realize you're scared of a block of painted plastic, right?
