Not satisfied with merely spying on everyone's outdoor activities with CCTVs, the Waltham Forest Council in North London is now offering to pay neighbors to spy on each other in order to stop "environmental crimes." Snoopers will be paid up to £500 for reporting suspicious neighborhood activities (like a person not picking up after their dog).
Some people might be asking why you would want to turn neighbors against each other. Councillor Afzal Akram has an answer: "The message is we want our streets clean. We don’t want people coming here and dumping rubbish."
It's great to see that Britain has learned the lessons history has taught us. Just take a look at the Hitler Youth and its impact for the Nazi cause. If children hadn't been spying on their parents, the Germans might not have been able to murder six million innocent people. It must be comforting to know that your neighbors are watching your every move and writing down everything you say. It's not an ounce intrusive or creepy. Nope, not at all. You know what you should do next? You should pass a law that requires all homes to be fitted with clear walls. That way, you could never hide from your neighbors! That and make sign language the official language of England. It's easier to know what people are saying when you don't have to read their lips.
